How much does a vacation trip to Japan range from?

Question by Lily: How much does a vacation trip to Japan range from?
What’s the least amount you can spend? And what’s the largest amount?
I’m doing a travel destination booklet about Japan, and I need to know the cost of a typical trip to Japan.
Also, what are some ‘activities’ that you can do there? Are there any special sight-seeing places, etc?

Answer by Tokyo E
Depends how long is the trip, how much traveling around the country will one be doing?

Largest amount can be over one million dollars. Lowest amount could be $ 50 dollars a day or even lower for someone who is really really counting how much money they spend.
One person can spend $ 50 for a hotel, and another person can spend $ 500 on a hotel.

Japan has something for everyone, if you are a budget traveler, there are budget options, if you are a big spender rich person, Japan has plenty of things for them to do.

Pretty much any activity you can imagine can be done in Japan. Hiking, skiing, golfing, mountain climbing, shopping, drinking, surfing, you name it it can be done in one part of Japan or another.

Kyoto is a historical part of Japan, many travelers go there for history. Tokyo is a modern Metropolis, many people go there for shopping and entertainment.

For one week, with airfare and hotel from the United States, a typical person can survive in the $ 2000-3000 range pretty comfortably. Some people are able to stretch that money even more. Just depends on the type of traveler.
